SFNOMA Firm Tour w/ PWP Landscape Architecture
Join us for a firm tour with PWP Landscape Architecture on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at PWP Landscape Architecture in Berkeley, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Their office is located at 739 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA 94710.
This is an opportunity to visit a leading landscape architecture practice and learn about PWP’s contributions to public spaces, parks, and urban landscapes around the world. Known for blending design excellence with environmental stewardship, PWP has shaped projects that inspire and connect communities. The tour will offer a glimpse into the firm’s work and design philosophy. Drinks and snacks are provided.
SFNOMA Portfolio/Resume Review w/ BAYA @ UC Berkeley

Whether you’re a student or recent graduate, this is a great opportunity to refine your materials and prepare for the next step in your career.

SFNOMA Black Women in Architecture Brunch
Join us on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Gensler Oakland, 2101 Webster Street, Suite #2000, Oakland, CA 94612, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
In a shared commitment to equity and inclusion, SFNOMA and Gensler have partnered to support and uplift Black women in the field of Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC). This collaboration aims to build a strong and connected community of Black women professionals—highlighting the transformative power of design as a tool for leadership, advocacy, and systemic change in the built environment.
Together, we are creating space for Black women to thrive, lead, and leave a lasting impact on our industry and our world.
We look forward to having you join us as the Black Women in Architecture returns to the Oakland Bay Area once again for the 3rd Annual Brunch hosted by SFNOMA and Gensler.
Food will be catered by Brenda’s French Soul Food.

SFNOMA Virtual Lunch & Learn Series
Join us on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, virtually via Zoom from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, as we welcome Lorne Mlotek from LeadingGreen, a LEED study prep program. We will discuss the ins and outs of how buildings become LEED certified and how to earn your own LEED certification for a professional development boost in your career. As a member you get a 25% discount off LeadingGreen's study programs!! You can also receive AIA CE credits in the sustainability area after completing the study program.
SFNOMA Fall Volunteer Day - Habitat for Humanity
SFNOMA is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, September 27, 2025, to help build a playhouse for local communities. Come and join other members that are making a difference for local residents that are in need of a safe and joyful space to play. We will meet at Habitat Warehouse, 1320 Egbert Ave. San Francisco, CA 94124, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Please arrive by 8:45A M for volunteer check in.
Space is limited to 16 people so please only sign up if you are sure you can attend.
This is a great opportunity to work together, learn new skills, and make a meaningful contribution. Completed playhouses will be donated to community partners, bringing joy to children and families.
What to Bring & Wear:
Close-toed shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting paint on
An extra layer if you’re working in the warehouse or sun protection if outdoors

SFNOMA Coffee Talk
Join us on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM for our third quarter coffee talk at The Hidden Cafe in Berkeley.
Come and join SFNOMA for our third Coffee Talk surrounding financial literacy and sustainability in our industry and personal lives. We will have a financial advisor guest speaker who will discuss personal financial goals and how to achieve them with the u6certainties of society and our industries. Coffee is on us and please bring a friend!
SFNOMA Hike @ Point Pinole
Join us on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Point Pinole Regional Shoreline Park, 5551 Giant Highway, Richmond, CA 94806, from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
This will be a 4.62 mi. social hike for beginners along Point Pinole Shoreline with great views along the Bay-area. Please bring your camera, because there will be great views and captivating scenery with native wildlife. We will be talking about the historical aspect of the dynamite factory and it's connection to the city.
What to bring:
Brown bag snacks (for lunch stop)
Water
Wear comfortable warm clothes (layers)
Camera
Smiles and laughter
Wear comfortable shoes. We will mostly be on paved road, but there will be dirt and rocky trails, too.
Parking: there is a parking lot fee of $3. (When checkpoint is open)
Difficulty level: the hike level is rated at easy to light medium - this hike is for the beginner hikers.
Dogs: Dogs are allowed at $2 park fee (when checkpoint is open). Please keep your dog on a leash and bring extra bags to clean up your dogs droppings.

Project Pipeline Architectural Summer Camp - San Jose | Students Presentations
Students at the LAST Project Pipeline camp this summer will give presentations for jurors. We will take photos and then end with a small reception with small snacks and bites. Come out and support the students!
Project Pipeline Architectural Summer Camp - San Jose, CA
The SFNOMA Project Pipeline Architectural Summer Camp is an excellent opportunity for middle school students (age 11-14) and high school students (14-18) to learn STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Architecture and Math) skills. This workshop is part of a national initiative by over twenty NOMA chapters across the country called Project Pipeline - the mission is to help diversify the AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) and planning professions by focusing on providing youth from underrepresented cultures interested in AEC and community planning into the career "pipeline" at the early stages of development.

Coffee Talk / Architectural Sketch Walk
SFNOMA and Bay Area Young Architects (BAYA) are getting together! Come and join both SFNOMA and BAYA for a Coffee Talk and Architectural Sketch to follow. SFNOMA’s Coffee Talk Topic: From Sketch to Revit. We will discuss the challenges that most people have faced after completing school and learning how to transition to practice with use of software like Revit. After our Coffee Talk, SFNOMA and BAYA members are invited to join in on an architectural sketching session.

SFNOMA Project Pipeline Architectural Summer Camp - Oakland
The camp is designed to expose youth to the built environment, architecture fundamentals, and the profession. Students collaboratively address community-focused issues through creativity and design innovation with a real project site, while learning about sketching, diagramming, technical drawing, model making, and more. The curriculum was created to equip, empower and educate youth through architectural design and engineering techniques.

The Project Pipeline Architecture Camp is a national initiative by the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) to empower underrepresented youth through design education.
