Our mission is to empower young people to affect change in their community through design. Using the city as the classroom and connecting young people to real-world architects and planners, we foster the next generation of design professionals, civic leaders, and changemakers.  We advocate for increased inclusiveness, diversity, fellowship, equity, and excellence in design.

Project Pipeline 2026

Project Pipeline 2026

SFNOMA is excited to be running two Project Pipeline camps this summer for middle and high schoolers.

Over the 5 day camp, students will spend time in a studio environment with teachers and professionals designing a real project, on a real site, learning about the design process through drawing, diagramming, modelmaking and more. They will visit the site as well as a significant project and the office of a local architecture firm. By the program’s conclusion, students present a fully realized project that addresses an issue in their city and develop skills and tools to contribute to their community critically and constructively.

We’ve hosted Project Pipeline camps for over 10 years in the Bay Area with a mission is to empower young people to affect change in their community through design. Using the city as the classroom and connecting young people to real-world architects and planners, we foster the next generation of design professionals, civic leaders, and changemakers. We advocate for increased inclusiveness, diversity, fellowship, equity, and excellence in design while serving a diverse population of students, all of whom are underrepresented in the design field, and often serves as their first introduction to the design field. Our program better prepares students for college and life beyond and has served more than 10,000 students over the last decade.
